About the Boroko Swimming Club

At Boroko Amateur Swimming Club, we are passionate about fostering a love for swimming and building a supportive community where every swimmer can thrive. Established with the goal of promoting excellence in the sport, we provide a welcoming environment for swimmers of all ages and skill levels, from beginners taking their first strokes to seasoned athletes striving for personal bests. Our dedicated coaches and volunteers work tirelessly to inspire growth, teamwork, and a commitment to achieving both individual and collective goals. Through training programs, competitions, and community engagement, we aim to nurture talent, promote health and fitness, and create lifelong memories for our members. Together, we’re not just a club—we’re a family making waves in and out of the pool.

Swimming is one of Papua New Guinea’s (PNG) up and coming sporting genres. Whether your child wants to race, get fit or just have fun - swimming is a great sport to get into.

Boroko Amateur Swimming Club (BASC) believes every child should have the opportunity to participate in swimming regardless of gender, age, ability, cultural backgrounds or religion. As a parent, you can be confident that our swimming community at all levels is committed to being Child Safe by removing barriers to participation, increasing safeguards for children, eradicating discrimination and promoting the important role swimming and aquatics can play in the lives of all our swimmers. BASC encourages you to work positively with the club, your swimmer’s coach to best understand your child’s particular needs and circumstances.

BASC is the governing body for competitive swimming in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. Each swimmer whom is a member of the club which in turn is a member of the country’s swimming federation PNG Swimming Inc.

Above all else, BASC is about providing an opportunity to be involved in this incredible sport, in a fun, safe and supportive environment, enjoying sporting excellence and developing important life skills.
